About Altermed

Altermed Aps is a 100% Danish owned company that has existed since 2003. For more than two decades, we have supplied professional equipment and accessories to practitioners, masseurs and therapists in Denmark and internationally. Our mission is to offer quality products that combine functionality, durability and sustainability.

The story behind Altermed:

Our journey started in 2003, when my then wife, who was a trained nurse, took a massage course at the Massage School in Copenhagen.

After the course, the need for a massage table arose, but the selection in Denmark was limited. This was the start of Altermed.

2003: Started selling portable massage tables from TaoProducts.
2006: Seeked out own production and imports from China. Today, our partners produce more than 150,000 treatment tables annually worldwide.
2010: Moved to a new location of 430 m² on Mariendalsvej to meet increasing demand.
2012: Began selling Weelko products, known for their quality and innovative design.
2017: Introduced own import of disposable sheets and consumables.
2018: Became a distributor of BODHI yoga equipment, which complements our range.
2019:
- Exclusive distributor of Vulsini's quality products for hot stone and bamboo massage.
- Acquisition of OptimalBodycare, which expanded our product portfolio.
- Distributor of massage oils, creams and lotions from American BIOTONE.
- Became a dealer of hairdressing chairs and salon furnishings.
2021: Conversion from K/S to Aps
2022: Acquired 50% of Vulsini London to strengthen the connection between Vulsini and the European market.
2024: Negotiation of CoinfyCare and Naggura
2025: Introduction of new website with over 2500 products and expansion of warehouse capacity by an additional 400 m². In the same year we launched Altermed Sport with a focus on treadmills, rowing machines and cross trainers.
